On Thursday, the Pixel 7 was released in India as the company’s latest Pixel-branded smartphone. The device is powered by a Tensor G2 SoC from the second generation, together with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It has a 50-megapixel dual rear camera array as well as a 10.8-megapixel selfie camera. The Pixel 7 has a 6.3-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. It ships with Android 13 and will receive OS and security updates for the next five years. It is dust and water resistant, with an IP68 rating.

The iPhone 14 features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 6 are powered by Tensor processors from the second and first generations, respectively, and come with up to 8GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 is powered by last year’s A15 Bionic chipset, which was present in last year’s iPhone.

The Pixel 7 and Pixel 6 have a dual camera arrangement for photographs and movies, with a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera. The Pixel 6 has an 8-megapixel selfie camera, and the Pixel 7 boasts a 10.8-megapixel front-facing camera. The iPhone 14, on the other hand, sports a dual camera arrangement with a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor and another 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. It sports a 12-megapixel True Depth camera on the front for selfies and video calls. The Google Pixel 7 has 256GB of storage (128GB in India), whereas the Pixel 6 has up to 256GB of storage. Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 has a storage capacity of up to 512GB. All three phones lack the potential to expand storage via microSD card.

The Google Pixel 7 has a 4,335mAh battery, while the Pixel 6 has a slightly larger 4,614mAh battery. Both phones enable 30W charging as well as wireless charging. Meanwhile, Apple does not provide the iPhone 14’s battery capacity, but the firm claims it can provide up to 20 hours of video playing on a single charge, as well as 18W fast charging, MagSafe wireless charging at 15W, and 7.5W Qi wireless charging support.

In India, the Pixel 7 price starts at Rs. 59,999 for the single 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, which is available in Lemongrass, Obsidian, and Snow color options.

In comparison, the Pixel 6 was released in October 2021 for $599. (roughly Rs. 45,000). The device, which comes in Kinda Coral, Sorta Seafoam, and Stormy Black colors, did not make its debut in India.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 was released in India in September with a starting price of Rs. 79,999. Blue, Midnight, Purple, Starlight, and (Product) Red are the color possibilities for the handset.
